WITCH`S ROADS AND TRAILS TAROT

Roads and trails of the Witches is a colourful and bright fantasy Tarot deck. It combines the myths and fairy tales of European and Slavic cultures. The artist and author of the deck is Tatyana Tkacheva. The cards are based on a series of her paintings and illustrations dedicated to the fairy-tale theme Heritage of Baba Yaga, created at various times throughout her life.

Major Arcana

VII The Chariot
A young witch is sitting on her “chariot”, which is her hut on hen’s legs. She is looking forward and is ready to move towards success. Spring blossom of trees surrounds her, and everything suggest renewal. The rider controls both the pace and the direction of movement. The witch has got everything for a far journey. She is accompanied by her loyal helpers, her Familiars, the cat and the little hut. Symbolism: a new affair, changes for the better, career growth, inspiration with art, spiritual path. The hut on hen’s legs is a symbol of combination of passive and active, that makes up a magical instrument. It violates laws of physics, and provides its owner with an undeniable advantage. Prediction: you should not be that careful any longer, time has come for you to take action! Everything is ready for you to move forward: a perfect idea, experience, resources, and time. Don’t be scared, this time you will succeed. Do look around sometimes, and don’t forget to control your own actions. This is how you can prevent unfortunate mistakes. XXI The World
A naked girl with a crown on her head makes a step to the Eternity. There is a light 8-shaped ribbon in her hands. She is surrounded with flower petals. At the corners, there are flowers resembling head of an Angel, and heads of animals: eagle, bull, and a lion. Symbolism: the girl (witch) is standing on a ball, and makes a step, which simultaneously means the start, and the end, as the creative dance expressing relations between the shape and essence is eternal. Flowers, i.e. the figurines of a lion, angel, bull, and eagle, symbolise the four Vedas, the four stages of knowledge in Buddhism, and four elements. Prediction: finally, the man achieved peace, the highest level of knowledge and harmony with the Universe. He is free, his soul has fulfilled its destiny in one of the development cycles. However, the journey never ends, and this is the beginning of a new adventure. Advice: our world is as big and prolific, as it is possible to imagine. Our vistas need no limits. People are here in this world to learn the lessons of life.Two of Cups
Girl is spring, dove is love, they gently hug. Spring is blossoming around. The Spring and the Pigeon are living cups themselves full of the wine of love, happiness, and unity. Eternal Spring and Love met each other to continue their journey together symbolizing equilibrium and harmony. Symbolism: the card symbolises an affair between two people. This can be a mere marriage, agreement on cooperation or just the state of harmony, that brings happiness for two people. Prediction: beginning of love or pleasant acquaintance, that will result in something new, achievement of a new level in spiritual development, establishment of some new force. Advice: try to feel and understand the critical importance of love for one’s neighbours, and make it the foundation of your new life. The witch went on for a long journey. What for? The goal of the journey is not fully clear even to the witch herself. She is riding her hut with luggage, such as glass vessels, potions, and mops. The hut slowly moves on its six legs with its two hands holding a pipe and smoking. The witch is naked and holds a tray with fruit, she is in deep thoughts. There are ghosts of her aunts- witches on the background.
Symbolism: the journey means the long way towards knowledge, and search for one’s own path, own goal. Don’t make plans for the future, just move along your route, your road, your path, and use the time of both day and night. Youth passes fast, one has to catch it here and now. The witch doesn’t know, when she will make a stop or how long will be the journey along this path. However, to gain a clear vector in magic work, and to master the craft she has to move along many roads.
Prediction: patiently continue your movement, observe the situation, and don’t rush forward. When you are offered different options, thoroughly consider all consequences of your decisions in order for these decisions to match actual situations.

A woman (witch) wearing red with a sword in her hand is sitting on a throne resembling a bird with a sharp beak. There is a crow Familiar near her. The crown on her head resembles a peaked tower (sharp mind).
Symbolism: Queen of Swords is a witch, she is always on her own. Separateness, detachment, and independence are her core principles. She embodies reason, openness, independence, fantasy, and intelligence. This is an embodiment of our ability to solve problems using logics and achieve higher levels of knowledge without being lost in the sea of ideas and doubts. The negative aspect of the Queen of Swords comes up rarely: most of the times this is a Snow-Queen, whose attractive appearance covers malicious forethought and almost impassable estrangement.
Prediction: probably, this is your acquaintance, a well educated humorous woman with analytical mind, who will give you an important advice. At any rate, the card suggests, that you are not going to bear with certain things; in some cases, it means protest in form of indifference, as well as subtle or even cutting irony.

The universe has everything you wish. Ace of Pentacles means start of a cycle of prosperity and successful affairs. In a broader sense, it also personifies satisfaction and personal achievements.
Prediction: this is the beginning, the time in your life, when you can see future clearly and optimistically. Your personal life is stable and satisfactory, and you may expect, that your business undertakings will flourish.
